The Last Provision Shop in Singapore

Tucked deep amongst the landed properties in Kovan, there lies and old and surviving provision shop that has been around since the 1950. All the provision shops have evolved into airconditioned stores while others faced the challenges of modernisation when their shops were either enbloc for development or no sales due to centralisation. My terms may be wrong, but when Mr Ang said that the shopping centre NEX, NTUC at Serangoon Garden and Kovan were established, he saw a sharp decline in his sales. He decide to slow down in his business and probably step the brakes the moment when health issues does not permit him to carry on.
I felt bless today being able to sit down and had a little chat. All these while when I visited his shop, it would be either buying bread, eggs or drinks when I ran or cycle around this kampong. I wish him and his wife well and may God take care of them to the best of His will. Amen.
