Ron DeSantis Throws A Tantrum After Being Attacked For NOT Condemning Florida Nazis
Published at : February 09, 2022
Republican Florida governor Ron DeSantis has been given every opportunity over the past 5 days to condemn the multiple Neo-Nazi "rallies" that took place in Florida over the weekend, but he has repeatedly failed to do it. Now, instead of finally attacking those individuals, he's lashing out at the people who are calling him out, saying that they are just trying to smear him. It shouldn't be hard to condemn Nazis, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is furious, absolutely sickened by the Nazi rallies that took place in the state of Florida this past weekend near Orlando. But of course, he's not actually mad at the people that were out there with their Nazi flags and Nazi symbolism. No. He's mad that reporters keep asking him to condemn the Nazis, which for the record he still has not done. And DeSantis has made it clear that he's not going to condemn literal Nazis, neo-Nazis in his state, because quote, we're not playing their game. Now he's not talking about they being the Nazi. He's talking about the, the Democrats, the press. He says that these people are trying to quote, use this as some type of political issue for what he called quote, some doing this on the street.
They were, uh, for the record in case you haven't seen the photos, they were hanging their Nazi flags and a let's go Brandon flag with swastikas drawn on it over overpasses. So all the passers by could see, the tourists heading down to Disney World and Universal Studios, everybody got to see Nazi imagery while traveling through the state of Florida and Ron DeSantis doesn't want to give Democrats the pleasure of condemning the neo-Nazis. They're Nazis. They're, they're, they're, they're self described Nazis, folks. It shouldn't be difficult for anyone in this country to condemn them. And we've already seen it throughout the state of Florida. We have had Republican politicians condemn these actions, Democratic politicians condemn these actions. But what is Ron DeSantis doing? Saying, oh, I'm not gonna give the Democrats ammo to smear me with.
His press secretary Christina Pushaw actually suggested that these may have been Democratic operatives pretending to be Nazis. She said that in a tweet, which she had to promptly delete after massive backlash. But why not just condemn them? Why not just say Nazis are not welcome in Florida. Nazis have no place in the United States. Nazis are horrible human beings that basically are scum of the earth. Any one of those things would've been acceptable. All of them would've been great. But Ron DeSantis can't do that. Maybe Ron DeSantis thinks that's his base. Maybe he doesn't wanna them off because he's counting on them showing up at the polls later this year and giving him a second term as Florida governor. Either way, it's a pretty sick and disgusting way to live your life. But Ron DeSantis keeps proving to us time and time again that he is a coward and he keeps hiding behind this same argument.
Because this whole I'm not gonna give them info to smear me on is the same thing he uses when he refuses to answer whether or not he's gotten the COVID booster. The man is a friggin' coward. He won't take a stand. He won't risk alienating the craziest worst part of his base by condemning them because he know he needs them. He knows he needs them. The guy only won election in 2018 by 32,000 votes, 32,000 in a state of millions and millions and millions of people over, I think 23 million residents here in the state of Florida. He won by 32,000. He needs those votes. He needs the neo-Nazis. So no he's not gonna come out and condemn them. He needs the anti-vaxxers. So, no, he's not gonna admit if he had a booster or not. He needs all of the worst people in this state to show up in November or else he's not gonna get a second term.
